HELLO! i have been a failure as far as updating goes. my bad, guys! my internet has not been working, and i have had zero time to blog over here. but i do miss it oh so much. tonight was tons of fun. the entire day was amazing actually. God is so good! I love having friends that I can spontaneously pray with. speaking of which- i hope you guys have been praying for the folks in FL. hurricanes galore. no fun. well at this point i'm continuing the post from where i left off last night. so this week began amazingly well. last night was awesome! the fabulous girls of huston res. hall baked cookies and signed up for secret sisters. it was so much fun. then some of us watched some foxnews (i miss foxnews). and then i went to my room only to find that everyone was showing off their beautiful dresses for homecoming this thursday. which is so exciting! all of my huston base girls will look simply gorgeous... i'm so very excited! and tomorrow night i'm going to be cooking for our small group! i'm really pumped about that too. and today is the best ever. we have worldview class. which is simply my favorite. and also- yesterday i talked to a few people from NC that i haven't talked to in forever and a day. it was awesome. oh and today we have an SGA meeting during which we'll be discussing the freshman talent show, which should be exciting at the very least. i think right now, though, i'm going to go make a solo wal mart run. which is shocking because there's usually at least one person who wants to tag along. anyway,it will be a great contemplative drive there at least... woohoo. later, guys!

Ok so technically it's Friday now, but it so feels like Thursday still. Tonight our hall decorated our doors with pictures and things. And about five minutes before Julie and I walked out for a meeting, Jackie called and told us that...classes were cancelled because of the rain caused by the hurricane. The flooding had already started getting really bad. Our entire hall went crazy when we heard the news. It rocked!! So then a few of us ran through the rain to our college republicans meeting, rejoiced over the news of classes cancelled tomorrow, enjoyed that, then went to play our intramural volleyball game. We were great, even though we lost. We did so much better than last time so I was happy. So then...O wow. A few crazy kids decided they wanted to go play in the field. In the rain. And slide down the hill in the mud. It was flippin' awesome! We had SO much FUN! I went down about four times I think. I'd have gone more if it wasn't so painful on my legs...lol. So then Michelle and I finally got back to the dorm and got clean again and then we ate food and watched a bit of a movie and now Julie and I are off to bed. I love this. What an amazing night! It rocked my socks off. I love you guys!!!!!!!

Well...I suppose I am shamefully overdue for an update. My apologies! Between classes, elections, WalMart runs, soccer games and volleyball games, it's been insane lately. Sometimes I've felt overwhelmed, but I'm loving it here way too much to get discouraged really. There's been so much going on and God has been so good. There's always someone or something to remind me to focus on Him. he always draws me back to Himself. How can I go back and forth between living for myself and being selfish and living for Christ and serving Him? It's absurd, but I'm such a mess, or would be without the grace of God. It's so awesome how I can get sidetracked but then something happens and the focus is off me and I come out of myself for a bit and see what God is doing around me. He opens my eyes to His work around me when I'm only looking to my own interests. That's just so awesome to me. He is relentless. I'm loving chapel every day. That's a big thing that's been encouraging me lately. That and our res. hall council meeting last night. There are so many great girls here who love Christ SO much and it just shines from them! I had quite a crazy day- a crazy week actually, with campaigning for class elections, and monsoons that ruin plans for a great girl's weekend. Well, we'll work something out! Anyway, I'm off to dinner for now. I'll post some more lata.... Adios!

hooray for storms that bring cool weather! see, that's the cool thing. yesterday was no fun with the storm and everything, but today almost makes it worth it! it definitely feels like fall. i'm very excited.... i'm also really excited about the covenant v. bryan game next week. you have no idea... haha. it's going to rock! so today was fun because we all went to wal mart and goodwill. in dayton. rock on. so we accomplished that, then julie and i went to get her flat tire fixed. exciting. then we had dinner and had an SGA meeting (;)) That was super cool. After the meeting we discussed plans and such; then we went to watch a volleyball game in the gym. it was fun. so now i'm here, getting ready to get some sleep. because for once i am actually going to GO TO BREAKFAST tomorrow! *gasp* yes it's true... ps- i must say in closing that bonnie marie and michelle- i LOVE you guyl you're the best! i had such a great time talking to you last night. you are two of the most beautiful, intelligent, and insightful ladies i know. :) ok i'm off.... later!

Wow! What a dreadfully wet day. i woke up late this morning. i was so upset. then i discovered i had something very close to a migraine. it still hurts. then my throat was scratchy and i had other reasons to believe i may be getting a cold. *sigh* so it's been an amazingly stressful morning. HOWEVER- I suppose all my days can't be as great as they have been lately. for instance- this weekend was amazing. we went to pocket on saturday and it was beautiful. breathtaking actually. then that night we went to chatty to see the band heroes were human. they were great. and we had fun. then sunday we had church at grace bible and then went to see napoleon dynamite AGAIN. which was awesome of course. buuuut- it wasn't quite as perfectly amusing as when we saw it the first time. still enjoyed it though. and yesterday was awesome. mr. palmer spoke in chapel and was totally great. i love listening to what he has to say. worship was awesome as well. definitely. yes and so today i ate lunch up in the cafe instead of the cafeteria which was great because i ate with joanna and got to know her a bit. then john joined us then other people and all that jazz. will and i discussed politics....Bryan politics. :) so yes, lunch was nice. kind of a pause in the craziness of running around in the rain all day, from class to class. we also had an intramural volleyball game last night. and let's just say that i think we all appreciate jackie offering to help us during practice sometime. props to jackie. you rock. so this afternoon i think i'm going to walmart with her and julie etc. so in closing, i must say that bonnie marie's john kerry flip flops make my day every time i see them on her door. she rocks and they rock. haha....

ok so who has been watching the republican convention on tv this week? well, i have. everyone who's cool has been watching it for that matter. ahem. lol. so i must say that my favorite speaker so far has been guiliani. and i'm sure i just butchered his name. but i really enjoyed hearing him talk. he was so very genuine. arnold spoke last night and everyone loved him. he was good, but i'm not such a fan of the governator. nor am i a great fan of the bush twins. i hate to say it, but they were awful last night! i couldn't believe they were allowed at that podium! i mean come ON! but yea so they were entirely not funny, but were definitely funny to watch. i cringed for them half the time. i think everyone sees now why they've been kept behind the scenes all this time. haha. so right now i'm working on my worldview homework. that's my absolute favorite class. and the reading is awesome. so i'm excited about the week. the only negative thing is the fact that i'm developing the habit of going to bed very very late every night, which isn't such a great idea with 8am or 8:30am classes every day. but i'm going to do better now. because i'm actually finishing my homework now. coffee has proved a good remedy to being so sleepy though. i'm loving it. and now i've got julie drinking it. haha! oh and yesterday she and i went to walmart for drinks for our fridge and such and it was so fun to see all these bryan people there that we knew. yea and we also went to see anpoleon dynamite last saturday after the picnic. wow, i forgot i hadn't updated since before then! but yea, that movie is crazy awesome! and oh so quotable. "I see you're drinking 1%. Is that because you think you're fat? Because you're not. You could be drinking whole if you want. Well, I have your equiptment in my locker. You should probably come get it because I can't fit my numchucks in there anymore..." HAHAHAi'm not sure of anything else to say. if i do think of something i will do so. later. since i'm almost done with homework. this was just my interlude. now i'm going to finish. *run away* later!!!
