Back from Bonclarken! Wow, that trip was amazing. It was a blast. Pretty tiring and all that good stuff, but I had an awesome time with those kids, worshipping to la musica de the Wade Joye Band. Haven't had a more incredible week in forever and a day. I'm not sure I'm up to giving an hour by hour account of this past week, but maybe I'll share a few highlights later this evening. I am, at the moment, watching Coming to America on tv. I also have pictures to post. Will be doing that soon.

Wow. I haven't written an entry in forever and a day. Well, six days. Maybe because I was afraid I'd overwhelmed you guys with my last two entries. lol. Anyway, it's been an insane week. VBS was most excellent. I had an absolute blast doing skits with Alison, etc.! :) I think the best ever was the Urban Sophisticates reference we inserted on the last day! haha... Also lovely was playing golf this week with mis amigos. I wasn't so good at handling the humiliation though. Thanks alot Kyle. lol. Anyway, it was fun. Then there was our movie making experiences at Megan's. hahaha. And of course... the needtobreathe show at CafeJam. Which rocked! I had such a blast. What a great band. And Bombing Adam was pretty darn good too. And Building 429 of course. I haven't really kept up with them much lately since they've gotten bigger, but back in the day when they played almost every weekend at CafeJam, I saw them alot. So thankfully, they ended with at least one song I knew, called Breathe. What a great song. Yea so I hadn't been to CafeJam in quite a while, and it was awesome to see the place again and everyone there. Anyway, tomorrow I'm off to Bonclarken. I'm really excited. Everyone's said it's so much fun, and I'm really looking forward to being a middle school leader. That's the best part. And this past week, John Stonestreet from Bryan College was a speaker, so that makes it that much cooler for me. So I'll be back on Saturday. Until then, you guys check out the music of the bands I've mentioned. It's worth it. Especially needtobreathe!

So now for Saturday. I hope I can remember everything. haha. So when we got up Saturday morning, we ate breakfast (which included cheetos and then some coffee if I remember correctly...) and I was pretty much the first one up- along with Ashley (A.) and some of us played some frisbee, then I went back to the crew and Charlie found Jen apparently so we met up! :) Then Jen and her friend and Ashley (A.) and me went to check out Number One Gun. They were awesome! Sorry again to you guys who missed them cuz they rocked! So then we left Jen to Disciple ;) and went to the Coffeehouse stage I think for a bit I think or just chilled someplace then ate until Anathallo played at 3. They were probably the most interesting of any band. So unusual and beautifully random. The lead singer had an incredible voice! So after they played we chatted with some of them for a bit, and Kyle got every member of the band to sign his cd after chatting with them for a bit. Jen and I did talk to one of the dudes from Anathallo and someone who I think was his girlfriend as well for a bit. We had an interesting convo about accents. Yea. Then there was down time until Grits went on the main stage at 5. So Jessica and Ashley (A.) and I made newspaper hats at the ArtRageous tent. So beautiful! And then time for Grits. They were great! Not as awesome as I had anticipated, but they were still very excellent. Then Ashley (A.) left for home, and we played until Cool Hand Luke went on at the Coffehouse Stage around 7. SO AWESOME. Not that I was surprised. And after their incredible set, which, yes, got me emotional, we just chatted about our band some and about music and ministry and all that jazz. Then we went to the campsite to finish packing up till tobymac went on at 9:25. And hung out. We had a great time just talking. I loved that oh so much. Yea and Jessica and Ryan ventured over to the Xtreme stage for a bit. Brave... :) But ok, now for tobymac. All I can really say is WOW. Because I predicted that his show would be the best all week. Some doubted that. But it totally was. He even did some DCTalk songs like... In the Light AND Jesus Freak! Awesome. :) Then we went home. The ride was brilliant. And it was a quick one thank you God because then I got to mi casa and took a shower and talked to mom for quite a while about the whole weekend. Very cool. So that's Cornerstone NC. THE END. And I had my first day of VBS today. I guess I can just tell a bit about that tomorrow. Oh as for the pictures below- the first one is Pillar, the second one is of Adam, Charlie, Ashley (A.), and me under the Coffehouse tent on Friday during the rain. We were looking at the rainbow. The third is of Alison and Kyle at our campsite. We ate lots of hot dogs. Good stuff. The last is of our campsite as a whole. SO there ya go. And I just want to say one last thing- that you guys who worked hard to make the weekend work well for us girls are my heros. Thanks! :)

Showers are for losers. At least I told myself that all weekend, and it was great! We all had a blast. This has been one of the greatest weekends ever. Thursday we had practice with da band. Then we went straight from the church to the farm in Elon for Cstone! The ride up was so much fun. When we got there, our guys found a great spot right behind the Coffeehouse stage for us to camp at, and they went ahead and set everything up. It was really nice out that evening, and it was incredible to sit outside, eat goldfish, listen to the musica, talk and look at the stars. Pretty awesome. And Need to Breathe played that first night. They rocked so hard. I got to chat with a couple of them afterwards too. Nice guys. Everyone needs to come see them this Friday at CafeJam! So then we saw Circleslide. They were pretty good too. Then we chilled outside till we got sleepy then went to bed. The next morning, we got up, ate something and got dressed then went to the coffehouse stage and played cards for a while, then caught a bit of the group V.O.W. They were good. Then I missed FM Static, but Kyle and Charlie said it wasn't as great as they'd anticipated anyway, so it was cool. Ok so then at 1:30.... Urban Sophisticates played. That had to be one of the best shows I'd ever seen. Which is pretty cool since I wasn't even familiar with their music. They were SO very awesome! In the middle of their set, Ashley and Ashley and Nanette showed up. And after the show we chatted with the guys from the band for a bit. They're actually from GSO and everyone seemed to know them pretty well so that was cool. Then I think we ate hot dogs and sometime around then DL got there with a few more people. After that I believe we were just hangin out 'til Thousand Foot Krutch played at 4 something. They were very very awesome of course. They did Bounce which is one of the coolest songs ever. I was waiting for them to do Puppet when their bass player I think it was passed out from heat stroke. Not cool. But we all prayed for him together. So they got off stage and I left to find some of our group but heard that right after I walked away some guy in the audience passed out too right where I'd been standing. Crazy. So I think after that was when I started to get really really tired and hot. I sat in a chair under my umbrella then went with Ashley and Alison to get some AC in Ashley's borrowed Jeep. So soon I was feeling better. Then Pillar went on. I was SO excited. I dragged Ashley, Ashley, and Alison with me, and even Nanette came! We had a great time. Those guys looked so different, but their show was just as awesome as ever. But around that time was when the typhoon hit. I ran over to the coffeehouse stage (under a tent) and Ashley(H) and I looked for the guys because they were watching Derek Webb there. So when we didn't see them we ran to the campsite and helped get stuff out of the rain. Then we went back to the coffeehouse stage for a bit. Soon the rain stopped and we heard that RelientK and Pillar had to switch time slots so we went to check out the OC Supertones as soon as we were sure they were going to keep things going. They were pretty good, not up to the caliber of their other two performances I've seen though. Unfortunately the lights kept going out on them and stuff. Not cool. But it was a good show still. Then RelientK came on. Despite protests, I brought everyone I could as close to the crowd as they would go. The setup was so perfect. Two massive inflatable figures on stage with RelientK- A snowman on the left, a polar bear on the right. RelientK was incredible. The best show out of the three I've seen. I had so much fun at that one. During their set we moved toward the stage little by little so that we could get a good spot for David Crowder. Oh and the guys got to meet the guy before RelientK. lol. Lucky. (I got jealous...) But this morning I saw the picture they took with him and it was perfect. :) I don't think I'd ever seen Charlie and Ryan so happy. haha. I'm glad they got to do that. So when David Crowder went on, I was amazed. The worship was amazing, and it was really emotional for me. That night we slept hard. The next morning was beautiful and cool. But I must continue with Saturday's events later. This post has already been overwhelmingly long. Later.

Hey guys! It's about that time! Cornerstone '04 baby! I am so excited. Mildly dubious about the whole not getting a shower all weekend thing though. I'll survive however. I've decided I can handle it. So I've been running around ALL day getting stuff done. And I finally got my license renewed yesterday with Ashley. :) Now I feel like I can do this weekend without worrying about those things I'd been putting off. It's been a great week. It will be an even better weekend. There are so many people I hope to see there too. Besides the excellent musica. So until I get back Saturday night, there will be a hold on the blog. Well I'm off. *So excited!!!* Adios.
God bless the gipper...

Have any of you ever felt a little outside yourself? Like another more crabby person took over your body? Ugh. I felt like that this morning. I think I was just sleepy, but then I kind of shook myself and talked to God. I mean it's not like I don't have everything to be thankful for. I wonder how I keep forgetting about the goodness of Christ. There may be things I don't enjoy in life, but I forget how secondary those are until I remember the love and the mercy Christ has for me. And part of it is restlessness. That Switchfoot song is so perfect- "we were meant to live for so much more, have we lost ourselves?" etc. That's not even just a message to those who don't know the Lord. I mean think about how distracted we Christians get... We lose sight of our calling- to go into the world and preach. Not sit at home and complain about idiots like John Kerry (:/), but GO! That's why it felt so good to get done a couple things today that I've needed to get done. Want another Switchfoot quote? Ok cool, here it is- "This is your life, are you who you want to be?" A few years ago I had all these ideas about what I would have accomplished by the time I'd graaduated from highschool. I wanted to just be so so busy working and living for Christ and I wanted to be this ultra mature Christian who had the spiritual discipline of, I don't know, the apostle Paul. And I know now that I'm not nearly the person I want to be. Maybe I never will be. Maybe I never should be because that could lead to complacency. Does that make sense? I hope some of you who know me know what I'm trying very un- eloquently to say. Anyway, despite my own depravity, I find so much comfort in Romans 8:29, a verse I've been pointed to all year by different people. God's pretty persistent when trying to show me something. I love it. Ok so here's Romans 8:29 for your benefit: "For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren." Very cool. How encouraging and full of hope is that?? Ok, I'm done venting for now. Aaaaand two more days!! It's almost that time! Cornerstone Cornerstone.... And as for the last couple days- crazy! Fiesta last night and running errands and playing volleyball today. That was fun, and our team killed the other. ;) Last night many personas came over and we ate mom's good food and swam and then discussed logistics for the weekend. woohoo! That was fun. I love my friends oh so much. Jen! You didn't leave the message thing on my phone! We'll get it done soon! ;) Oh and Charlie thanks for the ummm driveway art... in pink. Yea. So I'm totally looking forward to this weekend, and I'm praying it doesn't rain. Or before. Because if it's muddy... sigh lol Yea so anyway, I've just been cheered up by my good friend Ginna. I'm glad we got to chat and thanks girl for asking me to lunch tomorrow! I'm excited. ;) Well, I must be off. Buenas Noches.

The countdown begins!! Only three more days till Cornerstone NC kicks off!!! Can you tell I'm excited?? I really can't wait much longer... woohoo! Man, I slept hard last night. I didn't even remember what day it was when I woke up this morning. haha! It felt good. I'm excited about tonight. We're goin' to partay over at mi casa. Mom's making a most fabulous dinner and we're goin to swim as long as it doesn't rain. The best part though? We're goin' to take time to come up with our plan of action for Cstone (not Coldstone...). Gasp! Even Jen Dizzle's showin' up tonight! *grin* So yesterday I rested in the AM and wasn't feeling well pretty much all day. But even though I missed church, I went to the cookout/ VBS kickoff at the church. Also went to a meeting for the church's new ministry for 18-20+ personas. Had fun with the kids and ate some good ice cream and listened to some good David Crowder Band coming over the speakers. Good times. Then I went home, still kinda wiped, and watched Return of the King yet again until I fell asleep around 11. Not a bad evening. Tonight will be better of course. I'm excited. I went to the grocery store a couple hours ago for some stuff for dinner tonight, and I was thinking, "Oh! I should get this and that for the weekend!" Buuuuut, I restrained myself because tonight we'll know who's bringing what, then I can do the shopping. ;) Let's just go through some of the bands I'm SO excited to see this weekend- Grits, Supertones, RelientK, David Crowder Band, Thousand Foot Krutch!!, Pillar, Cool Hand Luke!!, Urban Sophisticates, TobyMac, etc. etc., but those are the big ones. I hope the weather holds up too. And that I can make it there Thursday. But it'll be cool either way. (!!!) Off to work on lines for VBS some more. I need to focus! "And the road geos ever on..."

Well! Time to update! I have been remiss. So last night was awesome!! I went to see Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban with Charlie, Adam, and Matt. It was SO good to see Matt. It's been way way too long. I love reminiscing about the old Earthsuit days. haha! We were crazy. Well, still are...:) So the movie was so so great! Whatever you wish to call me- nerd, geek, it matters not. I still appreciate a well made movie, whether it's Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, or otherwise. So what now! Yea, so I loved the movie and actually the really cool and mildly ironic thing is that there were three actors/actresses in that movie who were in Sense and Sensibility- my all time favorite flick. Pretty cool. Oh and none of those three were Hugh Grant. I know Charlie must have been disappointed. Maybe if we're lucky, Hugh Grant will be a professor at Hogwart's next time around. haha! So we got in the theatre at around 8:10 or so. When we walked in I saw Lauren (Spear), then I saw Ashley (Fuller) and chatted with them for a few before going to wait in what was already an already long line. I mean, c'mon, the movie started at 9- it was crazy! lol. But we waited for a few then I went and found Matt after we got some seats (we did quite nicely with that, too). Then we still had about 20 minutes before the movie started so we chatted and chatted. Then the movie. Then after, Matt had to jet, but the rest of us went to Krispy Kreme. Good stuff. I can't believe I'd never been in there before. We discussed our plan of action for Cornerstone over coffee and doughnuts. I CANNOT wait!! I'm mostly looking forward to seeing the Supertones. Even though I think Matt Morginsky is the only original member remaining. How sad.. But it's cool. I'm still stoked!! :) You know, yesterday was also really rainy. It made for a really nice evening though. A short break from the crazy heat of summer. And when it was raining yesterday I was out in a couple neighborhoods with Ashley (Angle) and Jessica and Alison and Jessica's lil brother Austin giving some VBS invites. It was fun. Especially trying to steal Ashley's car! Almost got away with that one... hmmm. We just got some spiffy curtains up in our living room. I'm off to admire them and then go work on some lines for VBS- maybe by the pool. :) Adios!

Greetings! It's such a beautiful day! This morning I got up at ten or so and got some things done around here and played some Game Cube with Jes and Eavan. Then I went to Jersey Mike's (woohoo!) with Lauren. :) We had a good long chat and I'm glad we caught up. Then we went to Cold Stone and met up with Jordan and ate cheesecake ice cream in a waffle bowl until I think we were both sick. lol btw- Great song, Charlie... So then I came home and went in the pool with Eavan. As we listened to Switchfoot. We had fun. :) So then we were chillin' while Jes was at golf with mom. (Go Jes!) And soon we headed over to bring Eavan so they can take her to cheerleading. (Go Eavan!) Now Jes and I are takin' it easy until dad gets home. Then I've got to get ready to go to VBS skit practice. That's always fun as we know... Ok so as for yesterday, I went to lunch with Alison and we had an oh-so-nice chat. Then we went to practice for VBS. (Nice gymnastics routine, pink flamingo! ;)) Then I got home, got some stuff together for contribution to the band's songwriting, and chilled for the evening. Speaking of the band, I can't say how excited I am! God's really got His hand on this. :) So last night I also watched The Last Samurai. Great movie! I saw it once in the theatres, being previously anti-Tom Cruise, but I can't be anymore, just because that movie is so crazy awesome! Even John Cleese is in it. Very cool. So anyway, I'm off in a few. Later.
